GWBITMFHWAFDFYMFM?
A prize goes to the clever bugger who can figure out what my title stands for. It is a hip-hop reference, is beyond vulgar, and is appropriate considering my long absence. Well, Im finally back and I didn't give up or anything, just took me far too long to recover completely. It's been exactly 4 weeks now since I woke up with my annoying, incapacitating head cold. Week 1 I didnt do a damn thing but lie on the couch, watch tivo and wait for some energy to return. Week 2 I worked out once but still felt a little sapped, week 3 I worked out twice and felt mostly ok but still had something of a runny nose, and last week I had a friend in from out of town and Columbus was rendered a pain in the ass by several massive snow and ice storms. I ate progressively worse throughout, but all that Chinese, Greek, Barbecue, meat and potatoes breakfasts, and buttered garlic noodles sure did hit the muhfuckin spot. Amazingly, over the course of the entire 4 weeks, I somehow gained less than 2 and a half pounds. Im not really gonna pretend to understand that, but that's cool. Made it back into the gym today as well and did a medium workout. I've obviously lost some fitness and wind since last month, but it wasnt horrible. I did 11 run 17 walk on the tready for I think like 335 cals, and then 12 mins on the elliptical at level 3, taken it moderately easy but hard enough to break a sweat and see where Im at. I think in another week or 2 I should be back at my former pace. Also did the chest press (150 is pretty tough now), triceps, dumb bell curls, and lat pull down. I've lost a little bit of strength on all of them but again nothin too drastic. Overall, Im pretty pleased with where Im at as I was thinking it could be alot worse.
