One must learn to walk b4 he dun lurnz hisself how 2 fly

Im quoting "Coming to America", of course, not Nietzsche so stop sweating my technique, as it were. Anyway, its only been about 6 months since I made my original post which was actually not even intended to start a proper blog but this thing is here so wtf. For about the 3rd time in the last year, Im making some sort of frail half-assed attempt at exercising, and as the last 2 were pretty much over before they really began, I was thinking that (b)logging my progress, or lack thereof, in an aghemmmm, "public" forum might motivate me out of sheer embarrassment. Or something. At any rate, maybe it'll be funny either way, and although it seems unlikely to me that too many people will be reading this, if it does happen to cross over with any other walk/run blogs, that'd be ok too. The fact that Im doing this would, I think, be a source of high amusement to most of my friends which is exactly why Im not going to tell them, at least until I complete the ironman. Ohhhhh, then they'll be sorry. If one of you does happen to stumble onto this from my commenting on someone else's blog or something, know that any inquiries will be met with the requisite and obligatory, "Face!", so save your breath or not, your choice. Alright, a little background. Yo tengo veinte siete anos, and Ive been smoking since late highschool, drinking for a wee bit longer, and havent had any real exercise to speak of in about 9 years, end of history lesson. Some time last year I looked up a couple of walk/run programs on sites like Coolrunning.com and beginnertriathlete.com cuz I didnt really wanna dish the scrill out/make the commitment to joining a gym, and I never much liked lifting weights anyway. I never much liked running, either, but then again I was never that great of a runner, and the idea of a super gradual program starting from utter ridiculous outofshapenessment to running 30 minutes straight in 4-6 months appealed to me. I think even when I played basketball/tennis in high school and was in decent shape I could probably only have run 1.5-2 miles tops without keeling over, so Im still pretty skeptical about the programs, but I guess Ill find out. Here are links to the programs:

Im gonna try out the "aggressive" one on bta.com, which is still waaay lighter than the coolrunning one. The "conservative" one is pretty damn funny, though. I mean, I know alot of people can hardly run at all but this thing has you walking 100% of the time for the 1st month, and by the end of the 2nd month you're running like 6 minutes out of 30. I guess theyre going overboard with the whole "take it slow" motto that all the exercise sites seem to profess. Sounds good to me :), I dont really care how fast I go at this point, just wanna see if I can stick to it for a couple months. Tonight was my 1st time out, and unfortunately it is balls cold in LA at the moment, and I seemed to have misplaced my stopwatch, but whatever I started at week 2 of the bta.com program, with the manly walk 9 minutes/run 1 x3. Annnnnnnnnnnnd, face.
